Nursing staff

All nursing staff is carefully screened to ensure they meet the standard required. All nurses are:
  • Fully qualified and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Experienced in the areas of nursing we cover
  • Reliable
  • Trustworthy

In addition to the above we expect a degree of flexibility and enthusiasm as well as a sense of humour. These qualities are essential in the field of home nursing.

Nurses do not usually wear a uniform in the home setting but will do so if a client prefers.  They will maintain a professional approach to their work and daily records are kept with weekly reports submitted to the office.

All patients prefer continuity and, where possible, we try to ensure this is so. Where a change is unavoidable, we send the new nurse to work with the existing one for a few hours in order that she can be introduced without upset to the patient.

We believe our nurses are excellent and we do our best to ensure both the patient and the nurse remains happy. Should, however, either one wish for a change then this is accomplished as smoothly as possible

Areas of nursing on which we concentrate
  • Rehabilitation following injury/surgery
  • Palliative care
  • High dependency including intravenous therapy
  • Care of the elderly
  • Wound and ulcer dressings
  • Continence care
  • Education/support for diabetics/colostomies etc.
Qualified nurses are trained to RN1 and RN2 level. This is equivalent to the former State Registered and State Enrolled nurse. All have worked in the field of geriatric, medical and surgical nursing and many have additional training as District Nurses, Cardiac Nurses and Intensive Care Nurses.
